PROGNOSIS Batch Manager gives you integrated monitoring, management and reporting for your HP NonStop NetBatch environment.
Although renowned for high-availability on-line processing, HP NonStop off-line (batch) processing is also often business critical. For example, financial settlement processing, transaction report production, and statement printing and distribution. PROGNOSIS Batch Manager ensures that this work, which is not ‘real time’, is still done ‘on time’, giving you the benefits of increased efficiency while reducing your off-line processing costs.
PROGNOSIS monitors your HP NonStop batch-processing environment by examining the status and performance of batch jobs and results, and then generating alerts or taking automated actions when jobs fail.
It also includes spooler device, job and status monitoring and is useful for batch-job capacity planning.
PROGNOSIS can be used to view the status of all batch jobs across all batch schedulers; to access performance details on all processes in the system that belong to batch jobs, and to view details of a particular batch job, including it’s status, completion codes, and current CPU usage.
From the PROGNOSIS interface, you can issue commands to start jobs, reset failed jobs, view job information and peruse spooler output files.
You can also generate reports for proactive batch-processing management and capacity planning. These include reports on jobs completed, runtimes, and resource usage over days, weeks and months.
